While the initial paper focused on communication systems and the transmission of messages, the implications of my theory extend far beyond mere words. The concept of information as uncertainty reduction applies to any system that can be represented by discrete states or symbols. This includes everything from genetic code to complex data processing, essentially any phenomenon where choices or uncertainties can be modeled mathematically.
