How did Menger's method differ from classical economics?
My method, as I outlined in my Investigations, is methodological individualism and a focus on causal-realistic explanation. I begin by examining the actions and motivations of individuals, their subjective valuations, and how these lead to broader social phenomena. This contrasts with the more abstract and less empirically grounded methods of some classical economists. I sought to understand the *origins* of economic institutions and phenomena from the ground up, through the lens of individual economic subjects.
