How did Kernighan influence Unix development?
My involvement with Unix, particularly through the "Software Tools" book with P. J. Plauger, was about demonstrating how to build portable and useful applications for the Unix environment. We emphasized creating small, composable tools that could be chained together to solve larger problems. This philosophy of modularity and tool integration was central to Unix's success and my own contributions.
