My work on transparency and direct manipulation is highly relevant to AI. Imagine being able to directly manipulate and understand the internal workings of an AI, seeing how its decisions are formed in real-time. This would move us away from 'black box' systems towards more interpretable and controllable AI. It's about building interfaces that allow humans to collaborate with AI more effectively, to guide its learning and to trust its outputs because we can understand them.
