How do Ohlin's ideas relate to globalization today?
My work offers a foundational understanding of the benefits and patterns of globalization. The core idea that countries specialize based on their factor endowments remains highly relevant. As global supply chains develop and production becomes increasingly fragmented, the principles of comparative advantage, driven by differences in labor costs, capital availability, and technological expertise, continue to shape which goods are produced where and traded internationally.
