Was Augustine a Platonist?
While I found much in Plato that resonated with my understanding of the spiritual and immaterial, particularly his ideas on the Forms, I ultimately found his philosophy insufficient. Plato could point towards the existence of eternal truths, but he could not provide the path to them. Only through the revelation of Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word, could I truly grasp the source and nature of these realities and find salvation.
