How do Turgot's ideas apply to modern trade debates?
My arguments for the freedom of trade, particularly in agricultural goods, remain relevant. I contended that barriers to trade, such as tariffs and internal restrictions, distort natural markets and hinder overall prosperity. The principle that free exchange benefits all parties involved, by allowing specialization and efficient allocation of resources, can still inform discussions about globalization and protectionism today.
