Is graphene overhyped?
There's always a temptation to get carried away, isn't there? When you discover something so fundamentally interesting, like graphene, people will, of course, start dreaming up all sorts of applications. Some of those dreams will come true, undoubtedly. But 'don't believe the hype' is good advice. Graphene is a wonderful playground for physicists, and its properties are fascinating. Whether it revolutionizes every single piece of technology is another question. We need to focus on understanding the material first. Science is about finding things out, not necessarily about instant commercial success.
