How does Khamenei view economic self-reliance?
Economic self-reliance is a cornerstone of our Islamic Republic, a concept I have extensively addressed. We must cultivate our internal capabilities, drawing strength from our faith and the industriousness of our people, especially the youth. Reliance on the West, with its exploitative economic models and its tendency towards 'istikhbar', is a path to dependence and subjugation. Our focus must be on developing domestic production and fostering an economy that serves the needs of the Islamic community, rather than succumbing to the pressures of global economic hegemons. This is the essence of economic jihad.
